"Dealing With Doubt"

"Dealing With Doubt"

This week the focus is coping with doubt. I am guilty of casting doubt in several different scenarios.  For example, this is a familiar one rignt here, "The rest of my day will not go so well because everything that could go wrong is happening....why me?"  We all have days when we hear bad news and feel disillusioned about the rest of the day, week or even month sometimes.

In order to transition from a cloud of doubt, the change starts with you.  Yes, you have to change your way of thinking in that moment.  Yesterday, I was doubtful about the trajectory of my business, such as my target audience, whether this idea of mine that I turned into a business is worth continuing.  I cast doubt upon myself and my business because on one social media platform one mistake with an automation bot I used cost me to start over and recreate my social media accounts on this particular platform.  Now, the time and effort I am putting back in to rebuild from the ground up has left me doubtful some days.  However, I crawled out of doubt yesterday: by being still in the moment, getting on my meditation app, listening to the calming music with scripture three times, praying, reading my Bible verses for the day and finally writing the scriptures and thoughts from my reading in my journals.  Yes, it was a lot, but it helped.

Then, when I was preparing to go to sleep after updating my website and online store with new Christian t-shirts, doubt crept back in.  The negative thoughts, the self-sabotage came like a flood gate, but I just quietly talked to God, prayed, wept and went to sleep.  I knew tomorrow would be a better day and it actually was!

I am not perfect nor an expert in the Gospel, but I know a thing or too.  Keep reading each week and you will agree.

Blessings for the week!

A Question to Ponder This Week is:

How do you deal with doubt in times of uncertainty or struggle?

Weekly Bible Verses

Matthew: 28:17

17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Matthew 5:6

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled

Isaiah 40:29

He giveth power to the faint: and to them that have no might he increaseth strength

This Week’s Call to Action!

1.If doubtful:

a. Find a peaceful place to sit and be still

b. Start praying, proclaiming out loud or writing down a positive affirmations to counter the doubt in your mind.  The positive affirmation can be something positive about your character or a positive action you dream about accomplishing, to make it a reality

c.  Pick up the telephone to call, not text someone who can lend an empathetic ear to you. Then,  honestly can express your feelings to him /her about your doubts without hearing judgement.

d. Go out and do something fun to cast away your doubt, even if for a moment.
